This is well done… I cannot imagine the amount of research that had to go into crafting this well written, informative book.  This is, to be blunt, a very captivating read. Often when historical biographies are written they can become stale and factual. That is not so in this case. T.L Tyson 12/16/09

I've read all your chapters and am left wanting to know more. This is a hugely impressive biography and I congratulate you on your extensive research and your considerable skill as a writer. I have a background as a historian, so the book sold itself from the start…You write beautifully and the subject is engrossing. One of the best books of its kind on the Authonomy site, Backed with enthusiasm.  Jared. 12/16/09

Your very first paragraph sold me on what an excellent writer you are. Absolutely beautifully done. This could be dull, but you keep it interesting in all the chapters I've looked at. It's a masterful example of how to write a biography. Elizabeth Kales 10/28/2009

I'm so glad you have avoided the common trap in this kind of work of just 'stitching together' historical letters and texts and expecting the reader to pick out the bones with a minimum of help and narration from the author. On the contrary, you have produced a well-rounded and skillfully written biography that is a pleasure to read.  Bob Steele 10/26/09

Your close association with people in high places, and your very fluent, informative, and engaging writing will ensure the success of this most illuminating book. Your book will also secure the immortality of your illustrious ancestor. I'm very pleased to back this book. Tony Bayliss 10/25/09

Perhaps one of the most engaging works in your genre I have found on this site - full of knowledge and very well written. This definitely deserves a place on my shelf.  L. Anne Carrington. 10/25/09

What a wonderful achievement this work is!  You really care and want your readers to engage and enjoy and come away knowledgably enriched. Congratulations on this. So many will benefit.  Kim Jewell 10/22/09

I found this a very fascinating read!  I enjoyed your book immensely!  Suzanne Adams 10/22/09

Remembering Teddy Roosevelt is a bright spot in American politics, and his work with the press helped to make him a hero, I'd think. Reading this is an enjoyment and I like learning about Bishop's background. Much has to do with your flair for telling history like a story, giving detail where you've made emphasis, and making fine selections of the material. The style is very readable for nonfiction. When I came to Bishop's history extending back to Salem and Bridget's witchcraft trial, I was glad to have found this wonderfully researched chronicle!  Katherine Lou Holmes 10/21/09

The scope of Roosevelt's life puts most to shame. The things he accomplished and cared about - so much in one lifetime. I sat back and read you book a little awed. Not just at the man but at your ability. I think you must have a little of your great uncle in you. And that sir is the best compliment I can give.  C.P. Hoff 10/20/09

This is utterly fascinating. Three chapters in, you haven't faltered either in style, voice, or content. This is so thoroughly enjoyable that one can almost forget they are learning something. I cannot say enough good things. Very enthusiastically backed.  Shoshanna Einfeld 10/19/2009

Fascinating product of diligent research but not dry. It is full of emotion and consideration, an extremely interesting fleshing out of facts. I personally love all ancestral tales; they bring history close and make it live. The Roosevelts and the Bishops both have fascinating antecedents - all of Europe is in their genes, and generations of men and women who built America up into greatness. Theodore Roosevelt is a man of greatness…his friendship with Bishop casts a new light on aspects of his life, well worth reading in full.  Freddie Omm 10/11/09

A brilliant read…literary brilliance…it reads as though you sat down and wrote it all in one night. I loved this and know it will do very, very well. Lynette Hopkins, 9/20/09

This is fascinating. A great deal of thought and research has clearly gone into this book. The prose is of a high standard throughout. It is authoritative and easy to read. This is a fine biography of two exceptional men. I wish you well with it.  Michael Dax, 9/21/09

This is incredibly good! Your pace and style make this an enjoyable read , and I marvel at your ability to summarize.
Dago Silko, 9/18/09

I've just finished chapter one. I have read almost every book about TR. Thank you for not doing a rehash of all the other rehashes about him. I was glad to read the straight forward sentences and the clarity of the “story”. I could never write like this.  Strayer, 9/17/09

This has a voice and the easy reading style of the great literary historians…not a dry pedantic sentence in the lot. It was touching to me that the people who served him (TR) loved him as much as they did. It is wonderful to see such a well researched and beautifully written historical work on Authonomy. I'm sure it will do well here.  Tim Chambers, 9/15/09

This is an interesting account and different also. I like history, and to tell it is hard. But you are a natural writer of it. Malika Gandhi, 9/15/09
